God welcomed another angel on March 4, 2017. Russell Thomas Morris passed away peacefully at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, where he resided.
Russell was born in Sydney on August 1, 1949 to loving parents, the late James and Joyce (Reid) Morris, maternal grandparents, Ewen (Hattie) Reid and paternal grandparents, Thomas (Dora) Morris. Russell spent most of his life in the Mira Road area of Sydney, where he was loved by all who knew him. He spent countless hours on his bike and having a chat at the neighborhood garage. He was especially close to his neighbors Elaine and Bill Gale and took on the delight in watching Shauna and Tara through the years. He will be greatly missed by his great friend John MacNeil and his Mira Road Friends. Russell is survived by his brother, Stewart (Betty), Sydney; special nephew, Glenn (Eileen) and their children, Nicole (Johnny) and Shaun Morris; niece, Joyce (Robert) Coffin and their children, Nathan and Ryan Coffin, all of Sydney; aunts Mazie, Halifax and special friends, Anne and Jerry Stanley, Sydney. Russell was predeceased by his brother, Ewen; sister, Diane; step-mother Pearl and uncle, Clyde. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. in Sydney Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will take place Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Chapel with Pastor Rob Jones officiating. Interment will take place at Hardwood Hill Cemetery at a later date. Special thanks to the staff at Harbourstone and New Dawn for their care and support.
