Jamie Douglas “J. R.” Royal passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at home in New Waterford. Born July 9, 1973, he was a son of Doug and the late Leona (Whitty) Royal. Since childhood, Jamie loved to play the guitar and as he got older, began singing. He enjoyed jamming with his father and uncles, Clarence and Dannie. Jamie also had a love for horses, riding and breaking them. The one that touched his heart the most was his boy “Traveller”. Jamie is survived by his father, Doug (Bernadette); children, Cheyene, Branden, Kelsey, Chantee, Mikayla and Hudson; grandchildren, Alexis, Paisley and Harrison; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends that loved him.
He was predeceased by his mother, Leona (Whitty); maternal grandparents, Walter and Muriel Royal; son, Tristan Ty.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Sunday from 7-9 p.m. and Monday from 1-2 p.m., followed by a service in the chapel at 2 p.m., with Pastor Ron Coole officiating.
