Surrounded by his loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Wednesday, March 15th of René Joseph Maddix of Wellington, formerly of Urbainville in his 89th year. René was born on December 28th 1928 son of the late Anita and Irené Maddix. Beloved husband of late Alice (63 years) and loving father to: Réginald (Marie) Maddix, Claudette (Théodore) Thériault, Stella (late Albert) Walsh, Marcia Enman, Robert (Cathy) Maddix, Roger Maddix and Jean-Louis (Karly) Maddix. Grand-father of: Jason Maddix, John (Candace) Walsh, Rémi (Lucy) Thériault, Paula (Pierre) Castonguay, Tania (Gilles) Bernard, Samantha Enman, Keenan Maddix, Brody Maddix, Maxwell Maddix and Maya Maddix. Great grand-father of Noah, Mireille, Maryse and Benjamin. René will be forever remembered by his brothers and sisters in-law Laurie (late Alice) Colette, Robert (late Cécile) LeBlanc, Joséphine ( late Louis) Gallant, Adrus (late Merie)Gallant, Rene(Ruth) Gallant, Marie Anne (Victor) Rousselle, Raymond Gallant, Larry (late Claire) Pilatzke, numerous nieces and nephews and his long time buddy Stephen Arsenault. René was predeceased by his beloved wife Alice, his parents, daughter Louise and sisters Aline, Alice and Cécile. Resting at the Evangeline Co-op Funeral Home, Urbainville until Saturday March 18th then to St. Philippe and St. Jacques Church, Egmont Bay where funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 17th, from 2 -4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. then on Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in René memory to a trust fund for his son Roger Maddix, or to the Evangeline Co-op Funeral Home would be greatly appreciated.
