Passed away peacefully at the Agnes Pratt Nursing Home in St. John's on Thursday, March 16, 2017, in her 93rd year, leaving to mourn children: Sylvia (Robert Taylor) in St. John's, Cyril (Dianne Noftle) in Ontario and Gordon (Deborah Heller) in Michigan; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; sisters: Susie, Shirley and Kay and brothers: Robert and Philip; dozens of nieces and nephews in Newfoundland and around the world. Predeceased by Gordon, her husband of forty-five years, her brother Cyril and sisters: Ada and Edna. Betty will be remembered by a wide circle of friends including cottagers at Three Island Pond, members of the Royal Purple Elks Club and residents of Summerville Condominiums. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, March 21st, 2017 from 2 - 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm, as well as Wednesday, March 22nd, 2017 from 10 am - Noon. A funeral service will be held at Barrett's Funeral Chapel at 2:00 pm on March 22, 2017 with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
