Joseph (Joe) Barron

Passed on: March 20th, 2017

Passed peacefully away at the Miller Centre on March 20, 2017, Joseph Barron, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 72 years, formerly from St. Joseph's, Placentia Bay. Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Christina Barron, parents-in-law Patrick and Mary King, brothers-in-law Derm Bennett, Michael King, musical cousin Phonse and great-uncle Mr. Peter Barron. Left with a lifetime of beautiful happy memories are his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Margaret, as well as his three proud sons Dean (Julia), Duane (Jacinta), and Desi (Ann Marie), dearly adored grandchildren Andrew (his hockey buddy), Molly (his all around helper), and Daniel and Katherine (his two little darlings in Vancouver), whom Grandpa cherished so much. Joe leaves behind brothers and sisters Allan, Loretta, Freeman, Marina, Bill, Gerry, Margaret, Phyllis, and their families. Also feeling our loss are brothers and sisters-in-law Veronica, Jim (Margo), Agnes (Benny Young), Ben (Bernie), Evelyn (Gerry Parsons), Bernie (Kevin Browne). Joe also leaves to mourn a large circle of family and friends, and his music and fishing buddies. He was a mechanic, fisherman, and friend to many. His passion for playing music continued to the end. Our family would like to thank all the family and special friends who supported us and made life easier during Joe's short illness and his passing. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Maher's Funeral Home, Placentia. Visitation to take place on Wednesday from 7-9 pm, and Thursday from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service to take place at Maher's Funeral Home, with date and time to be determined. Inurnment to take place at Dermot McGettigan Memorial Cemetery, Southeast Placentia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Red Cross, the Community Support Program (Eastern Health), or to a charity of one's choice.
