ROBERT (BOB) CHARLES WILLIAMS
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Charles Williams, peacefully in his sleep at Oceanview Manor in Eastern Passage on March 16, 2017. Born October 28, 1932 in Brantford Ontario. Bob will be remembered for his love of the sea as a member of the Royal Canadian Navy and the Canadian Coast Guard for nearly 40 years. When not on the sea Bob was known to travel the open roads in his camper with an annual trip to Ontario. He will be remembered for his love of big cars, airplanes, playing cards and the ability to tell a story to anyone he met. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 18 years Donna (Loughead) Williams. He was a loving father to Debbie Williams, Halifax; Michael Williams, Sydney; Richard Williams, Dartmouth; Graeme Williams, Bear River; Judy (Ed) Pine, Sault Ste. Marie ON; Andrew (Maria Lazzari) Williams, Bracebridge ON and Christopher (Gillian) Williams, Dartmouth. Step-father to Kenny (Angela) Loughead, Truro; Darlene (Harry) McCormick, Beaverbrook and Debbie (Sandy) Yuill, Lower Truro. Devoted grandfather, Grampie Bob will be remembered by his 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Along with his children and grandchildren Bob is survived by his sisters Sandy Brown and Pat Jelas, New Zealand; his first wife Shirley Williams, Dartmouth; as well as many extended family and friends. Memorial service will be held Friday March 24th at 2pm at the Old Barns United Church, Old Barns with Rev. Dan Gunn officiating. Reception to follow in church hall. Interment will take place in the Old Barns Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the Old Barns United Church.
