Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, Bob Stead in his 83rd year. Predeceased by his parents: Abel and Edna Stead; sister Ruth Rancourt and mother-in-law Florence Bursey. Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted wife of 64 years Alma (nee Bursey); his children: Paul (Marie), Rob (Sandra), Marilyn (Blair) Patrick, Rosilyn (Tom) Chancey and David (Cindy); grandchildren: Robyn (Doug) Thistle, Adam Stead, Jason (Jennifer) Patrick, Jordan Stead (Theo Coombs), Mark Stead (Allison Clowe), Melissa (Matthew) O'Hara and Jana Patrick (Brad Budgell); great-grandchildren: Jack, Julia, Saraya, Benjamin Bradley, Benjamin Alexander (his little buddy), Romy and Kaia; sister-in-law Doris Bursey; and a large circle of friends. Bob was a proud member of the Masonic and Shrine Fraternities for over 50 years. Past Master of Saint John's Lodge, founding member of Lodge Westmoorland, founding member of First Colony Lodge of Installed Masters and Past Potentate and founding member of Mazol Temple. Bob will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and loyal friend. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and Friday, March 24, 2017 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Heritage United Church, Musgravetown. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 12 p.m. from Heritage United Church, Musgravetown. Interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery, Musgravetown.
