It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Clara Linehan, age 91, of Southeast, Placentia, at the Placentia Health Centre on March 21, 2017, in the presence of her loving family and friends. Clara is predeceased by her husband Dan, parents Alban and Elizabeth Duff, brother Alban, sisters-in-law Joyce Duff and Margaret Meaney, brothers-in-law Edmund Linehan (Marie) and Jim Gill, and sons-in-law Rupert Kelly and Eneas Deir. Left to mourn with a lifetime of beautiful memories, her sons Danny (Janet) and Mike (Darlene); daughters Mernie (Rupert Kelly-deceased), Emma (Gerard O'Keefe), Marg (Jim Picco) and Belinda (Eneas Deir-deceased); sixteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister Miriam (Jim Gill-deceased); brothers Glad (Pat) Duff and Paddy (Millie) Duff; sister-in-law Marg Duff; special nephew Mike Meaney; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Also carrying the burden of her loss is her cousin and life-long friend Marg Collins, friends Geraldine Brown, Loll White, Bernie Power and Bride Coffey, caregivers Mary Neville and Elizabeth Collins, as well as her card game and bingo friends, with whom she spent many enjoyable evenings. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Maher's Funeral Home, Placentia. Visitation to take place on Wednesday from 6-9 pm, and Thursday from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial to take place 2 pm on Friday, March 24th at Holy Rosary Church, Freshwater. Interment to follow at Dermot McGettigan Memorial Cemetery, Southeast Placentia.
