Ida Marie Ward (nee Rausch) was born January 14, 1933 on a ranch near McEachern, SK. She passed away peacefully in the company of her daughter on March 21, 2017. Ida was predeceased by her sister Melinda (Rausch) Masterson, her husband of 36 years, Ronald Ernest Ward, and by her second husband, Reginald William Harris. She is survived by her two children, Randy (Susan) and Heather. Ida's life was full. She was a busy farmer's wife who enjoyed gardening, travel to BC and abroad, choral music, ballroom dancing, and competing in master's track and field events. She was also involved in community activities and enjoyed caring for others. Despite the onset of dementia in her late sixties, Ida continued to be active and found contentment in the activities that gave her pleasure like music, dancing, outdoor walks, shared meals, and the company of family and friends. Ida and her family would like to extend their appreciation to the caring community created by staff, residents, and their families at the Oliver Lodge Dementia Unit. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Augustana Lutheran Church (1201 Broadway Avenue, Saskatoon). Interment will be held at a later date in Moose Jaw, SK. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Day Program at Oliver Lodge (1405 Faulkner Crescent, Saskatoon SK S7L 3R5).
