STELLARTON - Helen Irene Cameron, age 88, of Stellarton, passed away Friday, March 31, 2017 in the Aberdeen Hospital.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Annie (Fraser) Clarke.
After her marriage to Roland, they moved to New Hampshire where she worked at Brooks Pharmacy. She and Roland also operated a floral shop. Following retirement, they moved to Florida where she enjoyed shopping, bingo and shuffleboard. An avid gardener, she also loved to knit and make afghans. They moved to a new home in Caribou before returning to Stellarton.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Cameron Aube (Jeremie), Florida; son, Kenneth (Gi), Massachusetts; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Roland F. Cameron; sisters, Alice, Molly, Maggie, Isabel and Dorothy; brother, Fraser.
Visitation 7-9 p.m. Monday, in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow, from where funeral service will take place in the Chapel at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Reception to follow. Burial will be at a later date in Church Brook Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Arthritis Society or a charity of choice.
