It is with great sadness that the family of the late George Purchase announce his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the age of 81 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories, his daughters: Donna Peddle (Gary), Joann Purchase, Sharon Purchase, Georgina Taylor (Hayward) and Terri-Lynn Pike (Roger); grandchildren: Karma and Shannon Peddle, Tyler and Shane Purchase, Aaron and Keegan Patey, Zachary and Nicholas Taylor; great-grandsons: Dimitri Peddle and Ryder Purchase; great-grand-daughter Katherine Peddle; sisters: Ruth, Jean and Eva; sister Rosalie and his friends at Xavier House, where he was a resident for 17 years; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his first wife Elinore Purchase and his parents: Walter and Elsie Purchase. In keeping with George's wishes, cremation will take place. Friends may visit Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from the Country Haven Funeral Chapel, with Reverend Jocelyn Cook officiating. Interment will follow at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Xavier House or the Mental Health Association.
