CHASE, Phyllis Elisman - 84, of Truro, and formerly of Great Village, passed away peacefully, Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre Truro. Born in Ingersoll, Ontario, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Rose (Minard) Johnson. Phyllis was a very dedicated mother to her children whom she loved dearly. A very giving person, willing to help anyone in need at any time. She was also a dedicated volunteer in her community, and formerly belonged to the Great Village Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. For many years Phyllis along with her late husband Harry, owned and operated Suckling & Chase Florist Limited Truro. Phyllis was a former Chairwoman of FTD Atlantic Region. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by daughter, Deanna Brush, Halifax; sons, Edwin Brush, Springhaven, Darren Brush, Truro, Patrick (Uta) Brush, Berwick; step-daughter, Janice Pearson, Truro; step-son, Sandy Chase (Gwen), Mirimichi, NB; grandchildren, Eric, Keith, Zackery, Caelyne, Francis, Hannah, Seamus, Lucas, Shawn, Kristen, Lee; great-granddaughter, Sophia. She was predeceased by her first husband, Hubert Henry Brush, her second husband, Harry Alfred Chase; sisters, Pauline, Marie, Margaret; brothers, Ralph, Pat. Visitation will be held 7-9 pm, Friday, April 7, 2017, and where funeral service will be held 11:30 am, Saturday, April 8, 2017, all in the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, with Father Dariusz Miskowicz officiating. Reception to follow. Interment to be held at a later date in the Terrace Hill Cemetery Truro. Flowers are welcome, or donations to Diabetes Canada.
