Rev. Charles J. Scott passed peacefully at Earl’s Court Village, London, Ontario on Saturday, April 8, 2017 in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Mary Scott, nee Smith, loving father of Jim Scott and his wife Bev of London, and Becky and her husband Richard Tunks of Ingersoll. Proud grandfather of Carl and Marie Scott of Markham, Ian and Lisa Scott of New Zealand, Anne Scott of London, Dwain and Ploy MacIntosh of China, Lori MacIntosh and Scott Seaman of Southampton, Scott MacIntosh of Ingersoll, and Steven and Helen Tunks of Nixon. Great-grandfather of Ainsley, Anderson, Tyler, Emily, Sophia, Jacqueline, Maeven, Cody, Hayden, Aubree, and Avery. Dear brother of Hugh Henry (Harry) Scott and his late wife Laura of Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia and the late Harold and Marion Scott of Strathroy. Charlie, will be remembered by many especially as a minister at weddings, baptisms and funeral services. He started his ministry in 1948 with the United Church of Canada in Kennetcook N.S., followed by churches in Blyth, Sarnia, and Hamilton. In 1964 he served as Chaplain at the London Psychiatric Hospital until his retirement. He was an active member of the community and a dedicated Kiwanian for over 50 years. Visitation on Friday, April 14 from 2-4 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James Street at Richmond, London, Ontario. The memorial service will be conducted at Richards Memorial United Church, 360 Edgeworth Ave. south of Dundas Street, London, Ontario on Saturday, April 15 at 2 p.m. Cremation with private interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Kiwanis Music Festival of London Inc. or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
