Passed peacefully away on Monday, April 10, 2017, William Douglas Luther at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Facility in his 92nd year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 64 years Hughena (nee Wentzell); children: Paula Battcock, Wendy Sample and Michael Luther; grandchildren: Sarah Battcock (Trevor White), Dr. Megan Sample (Patrick Carey), Matthew Sample (Joelle Marche), Zachary Luther and Abigail Luther; sisters-in-law: Ula Byrne, Mona (Jack) Hollands and Sylvia (Don) Thistle; brother-in-law Willis Martin (Monica); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Margaret Luther, brother Lindbergh (Mary) Luther, parents-in-law Angus and Selina Wentzell, sister-in-law Linda Martin and brother-in-law Gerald Byrne. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 13 at 1:00 p.m. at All Saints' Anglican Church, Clarence Street with Rev. Tanya White officiating. Cremation and burial to follow. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
