It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gordon Chesley Matchim, announce his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook, NL on Monday, April 10th, 2017, in his 74th year. He leaves to mourn, his loving wife of 50 years, Rita Matchim (Nee Bradley). His 3 children: Jessie (Dale) Rumbolt, Rick (Rose) Matchim, and Gordon (Bernice) Matchim; 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and step grandchildren. Gordon also leaves to mourn his brother, Eric Matchim, and wife, Cora. He is predeceased by his mother, Jessie Matchim, his father Cecil Matchim and his sister Shirley Martin. Visitation will take place for family and friends on Wednesday, April 12th, 2017 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Parsons Funeral Home and Chapel, 63 North Main St, Deer Lake, NL. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 13th at 2:00pm at the Salvation Army Citadel in Deer Lake, NL, with Major Wayne Pike officiating.
