GORE, Margaret Elizabeth “Scottie” – It is with very heavy hearts that the family wishes to advise you of Scottie’s unexpected passing on Monday, April 10, 2017 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born April 8, 1945 in Yarmouth, Scottie married her pen pal, true love and most of all her best friend Gordon Gore on 28 November 1964 and for the next 20 some years travelled with Gordie as he pursued his career in the Canadian Army returning to Yarmouth in 1986. An avid camper she also loved to tease and feed friends and family, she enjoyed puzzles, playing cards, and baking; but her true passion was being a grandmother who loved spoiling all of her grandchildren. She is survived by her especially loving and devoted soul mate, her husband, of 52 years, Gordon, as well as by her loving children, Helen (Gilles) Sansterre, Ottawa; Kimberly Ann (David) Sweeney, Yarmouth and a special hand-picked “daughter”, Shelley Rodgerson, Yarmouth. She will be especially missed by her grandchildren, Justine, Jeanelle, Emily-Ann, Ashley and Mitchel. She was also predeceased by a son, Gordon Gore. In accordance with Margaret’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth, and there was no visitation. A graveside service and interment was held at 10 a.m., Monday, April 17 at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Forest St., Yarmouth, Rev. Mr. Stephen Bourque officiated. A reception followed at the Jubilee Room (downstairs at St. Ambrose Cathedral, Albert St., Yarmouth). The family would like to thank Dr. Tom Muise for his many years of caring and dedication and an extra special thanks to his receptionist Susan for her support in times of need. Lastly the family appreciates the thoughtfulness and support from TriNav during this difficult time. Donations in memory of Margaret may be made to the Yarmouth Food Bank.
