It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, brother and cousin, Clarence Fudge, age 63, on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at the Northside General Hospital, following a brief illness.
Born June 23, 1953 in North Sydney, he was the son of the late William and Bessie (Lomond) Fudge. Clarence had been employed with NS Power for many years, first at the Lingan and Point Aconi sites and most recently at the Point Tupper location. Clarence was a pleasant and easy going man and was a devoted husband to his late wife, Marie. He was looking forward to retirement and enjoying fishing with his family.
Clarence is survived by his son, Daniel of Moncton and his granddaughter, Danielle of Amherst; by his sister, Minnie Noseworthy (Robert), Baddeck; five brothers, Edward Fudge (Angela), Long Island, Gerald Fudge (Brenda), Lower Sackville, Morgan Fudge (Kerrianne) and George Fudge (Margie) both of Sydney, Rodney Fudge, Sudbury, ON; and his close cousin, Lloyd Fudge (Avitus) of North Sydney and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Marie; a sister, Shirley Brown; an infant brother, John and his nephew, Russell Buffett.
Visitation for Clarence will be 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2017 in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Julio Martin officiating. Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney. A reception will follow at North Sydney Fire Hall, Pierce Street, North Sydney. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
