Obituary for Audrey Darlene Dorie
February 24, 1958 to April 09,2017

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Audrey Darlene Dorie, who died of heart failure in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital on April 9, 2017 surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
Audrey was born in New Glasgow on February 24, 1958. She was the daughter of Margie (Pitts) Dorie and the late Bob Dorie, formerly of Westville.
Audrey will forever be remembered for her kind and loving spirit. Audrey never forgot a birthday or an opportunity to acknowledge another’s accomplishments. Family and friends were of most importance and her wealth was in giving and seeing the joy it brought to others. Audrey accepted her declining health with grace, dignity and peace.
Left to celebrate her life are her mother, Margie, Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou; daughter, Wendy (Trevor MacPherson), Calgary; sisters, Jean Ann (Charles Bowron) Stellarton; Sharon (Roy) Doggett, New Glasgow; Sheila (John) Currie, Bible Hill; Mary (Rusty) MacDonald, New Glasgow; Bobbi (Rick) Fraser, Abercrombie; granddaughter, Courtney Cameron and great grandchildren, Nevaeh and Daxton. She is also survived by her best friend, Cindy Anderson, New Glasgow; nieces and nephews; Amanda (Greg) Thompson and their children, Amelia and Piper; Janine (Rob) Young and their children, Hudson, Loic and Mairi; Evan (Maureen) Doggett and their children, Noah and Isaac; Shayna, Ian (Laken) and Brayden (Raven) Currie; Ryan Fraser (Alicia); and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a friend of Father Bill's.
She was predeceased by her father Bob, nephew Daniel, paternal grandparents Charles and Josephine Dorie, maternal grandparents John and Lillian Pitts.
Funeral mass will be held on Monday April 24, 2017 at 11:00 o’clock at Holy Name Church, Westville, with Father Peter MacDonald presiding as celebrant.
Interment will be in Holy Name Cemetery.
Audrey’s family wish to acknowledge the exceptional care she received from Dr. Tahmina Wahab, 4-West Nurses, Dr. Anne Kwasnik and the nurses in Palliative Care, Aberdeen Hospital and Dr. Greg Hirsch and team, Halifax Infirmary.
