Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on Monday, April 17, 2017. Gerald Williams retiree of Dick's and Company after 40 faithful years, age 89 years. Predeceased by his parents: William and Ethel; his son Gerald Brian (1956); sisters: Joan Gillmartin (Raymond - deceased), Elaine Williams, Betty Williams and Barbara Pike (Gordon - deceased) and brothers: Harvey (Frances - deceased), Norman (Florence - deceased) and Earle. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his very devoted wife of 62 years, Evelyn (nee Rees), his son Wayne (Judy); grandchildren: Krista and Stephanie; great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Zachary, Alyssa and Reagan; sister: Shirley Norman; sister-in-law: Joan Oakley- Hogewoning; brothers-in-law: Charles M. and Eric (Phyllis) Rees, loving nieces, nephews, extended family and a large circle of close friends. The Williams' family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Joan Oakley for her constant love and support and the staff of 7 East, St. Clare's Mercy Hospital for their compassion and care. Visitation will be held at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Ave., Mt. Pearl on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and Friday, April 21, 2017 from 12:00 noon - 2:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from Barrett's Funeral Chapel, Mt. Pearl. Interment will be held at a later date.
