HILLSIDE – Vivian Ella Anderson, 91, Ivey’s Terrace Nursing Home, Trenton, formerly of Green’s Point Road, Hillside, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, April 19, 2017 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family.
Born in Merigomish, she was a daughter of the late Percy and Laura (Henderson) Sartoris. Turning 18, Vivian’s life drastically changed; her mom died leaving nine younger siblings to whom she lovingly provided care. Prior to marriage, she was employed with the former Zellers store, New Glasgow. Following her marriage to Merlin, she lovingly raised her four children, while maintaining their home and representing Avon for over 40 years. Vivian was a resilient lady, who possessed a wonderful sense of hospitability and unwavering love for family.
Surviving are daughters, Sandra (Ron) Mosher, Trenton; Lynn (Perry) Bezanson, Stellarton; sons, Maurice, Pictou Landing; Sam (Valerie), Kings Head; sisters, Beatrice Stewart, Winter Haven, Fla.; Laura Mae James, Burlington, Mass.; brother, Kenneth (Lillas) Sartoris, Abercrombie; grandchildren, Clint, Mark, Neil, Brett, Cole, Vanessa and Nathan; great-grandchildren, Cade, Keegan, Lauran, Brayden, Luke, Jayce, Kelsey, Alyvia and Hayleigh; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Merlin E. Anderson; sisters, Mary Davidson and Evelyn Murphy; brothers, Carson, Gordon, John, Lloyd, Wylie and Lawson; daughter-in-law, Colleen Dowding.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel with Rev. Albert Galbraith officiating. Interment will be in MacLellan’s Mountain Cemetery.
Donations may be made in Vivian’s memory to MacLellan’s Mountain Cemetery.
