It is with great sadness and broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved James (Mike) Gerald Hussey, aged 59 years. Our dear husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Mike was predeceased by his parents James and Clare Hussey of Portugal Cove and parents-in-law Olive and Kenneth Sturge of Pound Cove. Left to mourn is his devoted wife Ruby (nee Sturge); sons Todd (Janet Anne) and Kenneth (Sara); the lights of his life, two granddaughters Madelyn and Allie, whom he loved with all his heart and soul; his brothers Hubert (Pauline), Randy (Josephine), Stephen (Alice) and Bob; sisters Marie LeGrow (Wayne) and Lori Dwyer (Bill); sisters-in-law Marie Hann (Leslie), Sheila Hann (Clyde) and Rose Vincent (Boyd); brothers-in-law Gerald Sturge (Virginia) and Rick Struge (Crystal); also 21 nieces and nephews, whom he loved; his special niece, whom he called his daughter Emma Dwyer; two special nephews Adam and Ben Sturge who held a special place in his heart; also a number of other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank all of our family and friends for their dedicated support and love, especially Gary Rose and Tony and Catherine Neary. Mike loved people and their company. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Dawn Armstrong, Dr. Al-Asaaed, Dr. McIsaac, nurses of 4 South A of the HSC and all the wonderful staff of the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Centre and Breakwater Pharmacy in Portugal Cove. At Mikes request, cremation has taken place. Funeral service will take place at Carnell Memorial Chapel, 329 Freshwater Road, on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 2 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Mike's memory may be made to St. Lawrence Anglican Church.
