OUTHOUSE, Elsie Louise- age 90 of Port Maitland, Yarmouth Co., N.S. passed away peacefully on April 23, 2017 at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Brazil Lake, Yarmouth Co., on August 25, 1926 she was a daughter to the late Clayton and Annie (Ellis) Pierce. Elsie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister that loved her family dearly. She was a homemaker and raised her family before working at Harris’s Seafood for 16 years in her later years. In her spare time she loved to cook and enjoyed painting. She was also known to have a green thumb and would put a garden in every year right up until 2016. Elsie also loved the beach and combing for beach glass as well as camping and square dancing. She is survived by her sons, Earl (Rose) and Randy (Donna); daughters, Susan Lowe, Rhonda (Melford) Haley and Gaylene (Percy) Bourque; sister, Evelyn Gray; brother, Leslie Pierce; grandchildren, Dwayne and Darin Lowe, Shonah and Nicole Bourque, Jessica Haley, Amanda Outhouse; and great grandchildren, Kaia, Brynn, Christian. Besides her parents, Elsie was predeceased by her loving husband of 66 years Ronald Outhouse; grandson, Justin Haley; son-in-law, Jack Lowe; brothers, Doug, Joe, George, Charles, Willard; sisters, Bessie and Edith. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held Tuesday, April 25, 2017 from 7-9 P.M. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service was held Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 2 P.M. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Joyce Trask and Rev. Stephen Hopper officiated. Interment followed in Port Maitland/Beaver River Cemetery. A reception followed in the Port Maitland Fire Hall. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory may be made to the Port Maitland/Beaver River Cemetery or the Children’s Wish Foundation.
