Passed peacefully away on April 25, 2017 at the Health Sciences Center, surrounded by his loving family, Douglas Bartlett, aged 95 years. Leaving behind with wonderful memories his beloved wife of 65 years, Ruby Bartlett (nee Woolridge); daughter Rosalind Bartlett; son Kenneth Bartlett (Beverly); grandchildren Andrew Hawthorn (Ainsley), Cynthia Rushton (Matthew), Keith Bartlett (Susan) and Glenn Bartlett (Stephanie Ellison); great-grandchildren Caleb and Annabelle Rushton; and sisters-in-law Betty Bartlett and Joan Bartlett; also a number of extended family and friends. Douglas was a WWII Veteran and member of the British Royal Navy and member of Branch 1 of the Royal Canadian Legion. Douglas was a long time member of the CLB for 55 years and former Commanding officer of St. Mary's Company. He was also on Battalion Staff and Brigade Council. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center and Health Sciences Center 4 North B. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Thursday April 27, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place at St. Mark's Anglican Church, Logy Bay Road, on Friday April 28 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Forest Road Anglican Cemetery.
