Born in St. John's Newfoundland on May 4, 1926. Passed peacefully on April 26, 2017 at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville at the age of 90. Beloved wife to Denis Penney. Ruth was Denis's "angel from Heaven" for 70 years. Cherished mother to Denise (Tom Mackey), Debi (Mike Hearsum), and Janet Penney. A dear nana to Matthew (Tegan), Cameron, and Jeffrey. Great-granny to Griffen and Eli. Survived by siblings Harry Carew, Marie Dean, and Marguerite Godfrey. Dear sister-in-law to Archbishop Alphonsus Penney.
