Hubert Hayes Sheppard passed peacefully away at the age of 91 on Sunday May 7, 2017 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Palliative Care Unit surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his loving wife of 64 years Joan (Butler) Sheppard and son Robert (Harriett). Leaving to mourn with fond loving memories daughter Rosalind Mercer (Melvin), son Carl Sheppard (Linda), daughter Sylvia Hawkins (Harvey), daughter Lillian Hann (Monty), as well a large number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many life long friends, special niece Lillian (Bobbie) Clark who cared for him like she was his daughter. Thank you to the wonderful kind and caring staff of the Palliative Care Unit and 3B of Western Memorial Regional Hospital and to Dr. Phillip Morris for his care over the years. Special thank you to his caregivers at home Jean Antle and Cennith Offrey. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 2 pm from St. Mary's Anglican Church, Curling Street with Reverend David Taylor officiating, followed by the interment at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home 218 Curling Street Tuesday, May 8, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
