LUNN, Dayne Michael – 37, Upper Onslow, passed away in his sleep at home on Saturday, May 6, 2017. Born in Truro, he was a son of Linda (McWhirter) Lunn, Upper Onslow, and the late Willis Lunn. Dayne graduated from CEC and went on to study music at Humber College in Toronto. He was a very talented musician and song writer and was loved by all his friends and family. He had a life long struggle with schizophrenia resulting in a stressful life. Along with his mother, Dayne is survived by his brother, Kelly Lunn (Dana Holmes), Bedford; nieces, Madison Lunn, Baxter’s Harbour; Eden Lunn, Bridgewater; uncles, Dale Lunn (Paulette), Advocate Harbour; Duncan Lunn (Lorraine), Advocate Harbour; Fred Smith (Sally), Kentville; Gerald Smith (Genevieve), Dartmouth; many cousins. Although his time with us was much too short, we are grateful for the times we shared with him; Dayne is now at peace and resting within the “Column of Clouds”. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall - Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Dayne’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., today, Wednesday, May 10, 2017, and funeral service 2 p.m., Thursday, May 11, 2017, Keith Selwyn-Smith, DLM officiating. Reception will follow. Private family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dayne’s memory to Schizophrenia Society are welcomed.
