It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce Lillian’s passing on May 9, 2017 at the Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Lillian 85, died peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by her loving family. Born in West Arichat, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Katherine (Forgeron) Ranson.
Lillian is survived by daughters, Shirley Benoit (Brenden), Leah (Willard) Samson, Edith Boudreau; sons, James (Anne) Landry and Francis (Catherine) Landry; brothers, Chesley and James (Delores) Ranson; 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Francis; sons, Etienne Landry in infancy and Alzear; daughters, Therese Bullen and Jacqueline Landry; brothers, Ambrose Forgeron, Burt and Bennie Ranson; sister, Delia in infancy; sisters-in-law, Mary Forgeron, Frances and Marilyn Ranson; daughter-in-law, Marie Paul and sons-in-law, Bennie Benoit and Walter Boudreau.
Lillian was a strong, hard-working woman who loved her family and lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed many hobbies such as bingo, knitting, playing cards and walking. Over the years, she shared many of these hobbies with her family and friends. Lillian’s humour and generosity shone through in everything she did and everyone she met.
We will forever be grateful for our time with her and she will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Visitation will take place Monday, May 15, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Petit De Grat. Funeral mass will be held at the church at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16.th Burial to follow at a later date. A special thank you to the wonderful staff of Strait Richmond Hospital for their care and compassion.
