It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Patricia 'Pat' Campbell, 95, on May 12, 2017 at New Waterford Consolidated Hospital.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Angus L. and Josephine (Fogarty) McNeil. Patricia was a member of the former St. Agnes Church, currently the Parish Church of St. Leonard. She nursed for many years at St. Rita Hospital and worked for Dr. J. Young in Sydney. Patricia then went on to work at New Waterford Hospital where she was obstetric supervisor until her retirement.
Patricia was an avid bowler, reader and bingo player. She also enjoyed travelling and camping most of her life with her husband and grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by her son, Arthur (Rosemary); grandchildren, Michael (April), Brian (Jillian), Tracey; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jonathan, Lucas, Madalyn; sister, Theresa Murphy, Boston, Mass..
Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Dan Campbell; one great-grandchild in infancy; sister, Dorothy McEachern; brothers, Roddie McNeil and Jimmy McNeil.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford.
A funeral mass of celebration will take place Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, with Father Ray Huntley officiating. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at St. Leonard's Hall, Convent Street, New Waterford.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Canadian Red Cross.
