Leona Harte (MacLellan)

With heavy hearts, we the family of Leona Harte, age 76, regret to announce her passing on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at home.
Born in Inverness, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Leona (Copan) MacLellan.
Leona enjoyed going out for drives, scratching crossword tickets and having her family around her; especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by her sons, Sandy (Linda) and Cory (Doreen Lynk); daughters, Sharon (Troy) Tuddy, Arlene (Joe) Dervelle, Hilda (Peter Wambolt) and Norma (Phil) Stewart; sisters, Diane, Noel, Jean, all of New Waterford, Norma, Halifax and Jenny, New Minas, and her brother, Dan, New Waterford. Leona is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Leona was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Harte; son, Martin; brothers, Michael ‘Mikey’, Sandy, Billy, Martin, Charlie and Billy in infancy; sister, Mary Tucker MacLellan and infant sister, Mildred MacLellan, and godchild, Little John MacLean.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m., all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, New Victoria.
