Entered into eternal rest at St. Clare's on May 18th, 2017, Charles McCarthy age 81. Loving, devoted, kind husband, father, grandfather and brother. Leaving to mourn wife Rosemary; son David and his wife Stacy; son Robert and his wife Lynette; darling grandchildren Emily, Victoria, Phillip, Mallory and Kent; brother Jack (friend Marie Kieley); sisters Betty Brignell and Maureen Smith (Jack); supportive Heffernan family; nephews and nieces of the McCarthy, Carew, Brignell and Smith families; caring cousin Mary Stratton (Dennis); life-long friend Stan Murphy (Dot); Cape Broyle caretaker Junior O'Brien (Bernadette); Shores Cove friend Don Carew (Joan); many other relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents Peter and Mary McCarthy; parents in-law Cyril and Victoria Hayes; sister Patricia Carew (Stan); sister-in-law Patricia McCarthy; brother-in-law George Brignell. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Saturday, May 20th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm; Sunday, May 21st from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Mass from Corpus Christi Church at 9:30am on Monday, May 22nd, followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory to the Janeway Children's Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
