The death occurred peacefully, with family by her side, at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre, Charlottetown, on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, of Deanna Petersen (nee Caddel and formerly Niziolomski), beloved wife of Grant Petersen, of North Rustico and formerly Stanley Bridge, aged 78. She was the loving mother of Christopher Niziolomski (Jennifer Lyon). Deanna is also survived by her sister, Mary Catherine Smeltzer (Doug); brother, Ivor Caddel (Irene); and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her first husband, Roman Niziolomski; her parents, Wallace and Elsie (Morrison) Caddel; a son in infancy; brother, Morrison (Gail); and sisters, Margaret Cannard (Doug) and Murla Finley (Paul). There will be no visitation by personal request. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be held later at the Geddie Memorial Cemetery, Springbrook, P.E.I. If so desired, donations in Deanna’s memory to the P.E.I. Humane Society would be appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to Central Queen’s Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
