Passed on peacefully, Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Kenny's Pond Retirement Residence, age 101. Predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Channing of St. John's, and siblings, and by his beloved wife of 51 years, Dorothy (nee Martin). Survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Channing grew up in St. John's and went to school at St. Bonaventure and St. Patrick's. He worked for the Commission Government and the Marine Department as a Financial Administrative Officer of the Harbor Port for many years until he retired in 1980. Mr. Channing was devoted to his work with the Knights of Columbus. Mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 9:30 AM at Mary Queen of Peace Church, Torbay Road. Private, family inurnment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
