Gerald Roy Clark July 4, 1942 - December 24, 2008 Jerry passed away peacefully in his own home surrounded by family on December 24, 2008 at the age of 66 after a 2 year battle with cancer. Jerry was predeceased by his parents Lindsay and Mary Clark; brother Leonard Clark; father-in-law Phillip and mother-in-law Margaret Chwachka; and brother-in-law Charles Elsom. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Maryanne; son Leonard (Diane) and children Kaitlin, Kaleb; son Leslie and children Joshua, Kassie; son Phillip (Shawna) and children Mackenzie, Archie; son Nathan (Deana) and children Logan, Quade; daughter Allison (Clifford) Lamontagne and children Grady, Ryley. Also left to mourn are sister Donna Clark; sister Shirley (Gene) Wenaas; brother Les (Arlene); sister Elizabeth Elsom; brother David; brother Lindsay (Lorraine); as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Jerry was raised on the family farm north of Coronach until 1946 when the family moved to Moose Jaw, they returned every spring to farm. While growing up he enjoyed a wide variety of activities from playing football, Junior B Hockey, curling, St. Andrews Society Boys Pipe Band, and joined the militia. Jerry met Maryanne Chwachka in 1964 in Moose Jaw where she was attending Psych Nurse training. They were married June 5, 1965 and moved back to the family farm where they raised 4 sons and 1 daughter. Jerry continued to stay busy farming, coaching his sons' hockey teams, curling in bonspiels, playing senior hockey and was an active member of the Coronach Kinsmen Club. Jerry's love of horses developed into 18 years on the Wood Mountain Wagon Train, as well as many family and friend rides. In recent years he broke his own team and has spent many memorable days driving them in parades, for weddings and various other events. This enjoyment for horses has been passed on to many of his children and grandchildren. Jerry's kindness to others, sense of humor and love for family and friends will be remembered by all that he met. Funeral service was held on December 29, 2008 at the Coronach United Church, Pastor Muriel Castledine. Eulogist was Marge LaSalle. Special music by the Elsom Family. Ushers were Catherine Gryba and Joanna Sorenson. Active pallbearers were Lindsay Clark, Gerald Cairns, Richard Turriff, Gary Lutz, Martin Wenaas, Lawson Harkness. Honorary pallbearers were "All those who shared in Jerry's life". Interment in Berg Cemetery. Tributes in Jerry's memory may be made to Telemiracle.
