WILLARD P. CUDMORE

CUDMORE, WILLARD P. - The death of Willard Preston Cudmore of Saint John West, husband of 56 years to Doris R. (Hamilton) Cudmore, occurred on Saturday, December 23rd, 2006 at Ridgewood Veteran's Wing. Born in Moncton, NB, on October 20th, 1922, he was the son of the late Wylder and Emily (Wright) Cudmore. Willard was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the Canadian Army and worked with CNR in Moncton, Halifax and Saint John for 42 years before his retirement. He was a member of Portland United Church and an Honorary Steward of the Church. He was a member of Thistle Curling Club, honorary life member of the Saint John Art Club Inc., the President's Club and the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by one brother, Watson Cudmore (Shirley) of Moncton; one sister, Elva Paterson of Moncton; sister-in-law, Irene Hamilton; brothers-in-law, Douglas Hamilton (Margaret) and Octavius Gates; nephews, Ian Hamilton of Saint John, Glen Hamilton (Clare) of New York and Ross Hamilton (Gillian) of Toronto, ON; two great nephews, Spencer and Max; as well as several nieces and nephews in the Moncton area. He was predeceased by one brother, Emmerson; and one sister, Verna Wood; sister-in-law, Audrey Gates; and brother-in-law, Lloyd Clark Hamilton. By request there will be no visiting at the funeral home. A private burial will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association, the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick or the charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated.
