SEWELL, RALPH GORDON - The death of Ralph Gordon Sewell, loving husband of Ruth (Fillmore) Sewell, occurred on Sunday July 6, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1925 in Saint John he was the son of the late Fred and Sara Elizabeth (Jennings) Sewell. He worked for the Saint John Dry Dock in the Paint Department for 28 years, retiring in 1990. Ralph's greatest joy was watching his children and grandchildren play hockey and spending time with them. He was active in Coldbrook Community Centre and was a member of the Star Light Promenades Square Dancers in Fairvale. Besides his loving wife, Ruth, of 64 years, he is survived by his sons, Murray Sewell (Carol) and Daryl Sewell (Shirley); daughter Cheryl Boudreau (Brian) all of Saint John; 10 grandchildren: Murray A. Sewell (Sandra), Mark Sewell, Kevin Sewell (Nicole), Kristopher Sewell (Monique), April Hanley (Cory), Jason Sewell (Ashley), Jody Sewell (Amber), Shawn Boudreau (Alicia), Adam Boudreau (Stephanie) and Cory Boudreau; eight great grandchildren; one sister Marion Avard of Aura, ON; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister Evelyn Mowery and brother Murray Sewell. By request, there will be no visitations. A Memorial Service will be held from Glen View United Church, 8 Upland Road, Saint John on Wednesday July 9, 2008 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception in the church hall. A private family interment will take place in Gondola Point Cemetery. The family would appreciate donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor's choice.
