SIEVER - Werner Ernest, age 92 of Swift Current, SK, passed away February 5, 2009, at the Cypress Regional Hospital. The ushers were Rauland Ploss and Graham Cammell. Honorary pallbearers were all who shared in his life. Werner is survived by his son Bill (Shirley) Siever of Swift Current; daughter Cathy Sinclair (nee Siever) of Edmonton, AB; one granddaughter Laura Siever of Swift Current; one grandson Wade (Melanie) Siever of Richmond, BC; one brother Erwin (Ramona) Siever of Kelowna, BC; sister-in-law Audrey Siever of Edmonton, AB; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his children\'s mother Rita Siever; one step-son Edward Siever; his parents Willie and Emma Siever; a sister and her husband Helen and George Bystrom; a brother Herb and his wife Beatrice and his second wife Joan; brother Walter and his wife Lydia; brother Allan Siever and a sister-in-law Betty (Erwin) Siever. Werner was born on the family farm in the Hallonquist District, SK, on October 2, 1916. He attended School at Gasper School and Nybo School in the Hallonquist District, SK. He was united in marriage to Rita Marie McCann in 1942. He adopted her son, Edward Siever. Werner and Rita lived and worked in Hallonquist. They had a son, Bill Siever and a daughter, Cathy Sinclair (Siever). Werner bought his wife\'s parents\' farm at Braddock, SK, where they lived and farmed. They later moved to Swift Current and Werner remained in his home up to the time of his passing. He worked at Great West Motors and Gallant Motors in Swift Current, as well as the Horse Plant until it closed. He then worked for Miller Brothers until he retired. All the while he worked in Swift Current he also continued to farm until he sold the farm in the late 1970\'s. He also managed to build a house in Swift Current while working full time and farming. He laboured long and hard for every dollar he earned. Werner was a regular member for many years of the Jehovah\'s Witness. He fixed many people\'s appliances over the years, whether it be a fridge, stove, washer or dryer. He was well known for his interest and knowledge in mechanics. Anything that had a motor, he could fix it. As he retired, he took an interest in restoring old bikes. When finished, he would give them to someone who could use one. Werner was always ready to give a helping hand to someone in need. He had very strong opinions of what he believed in. He will be remembered for his strong and tough hands, and his ability to lift and move things on his own which seemed like an impossible thing for one person to do. He loved to visit and talk about hard times and recall happenings of days gone by. He was very proud of his children and he spoke of them often. Bill and Shirley\'s children have many fond memories of the different things that Grampa did for them, just to mention a couple: a back yard skating rink with a snow hut for them to put their skates on and take them off; he made a two seater and a three seater bike from some parts of many other bikes. The children sure knew they had something special that no one else had. In Werner memory, friends may make a memorial donation to the Charity of your choice. Warren\'s Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
