Mr. Harvey Buchanan of St. George Street Sussex passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on March 12, 2010 at the age of 83. Born in Berwick on October 4, 1926, he was the son of the late John and Stella (Adair) Buchanan. Harvey is survived by his brother: Otty and his wife Mabel of Fredericton; his sister, Garda Northrup of Sussex Corner, his sister-in-law, Ferne Buchanan of Roachville, Scott Smith and his wife Donna and their children: Preston, Shawn, Summer and Taylor of Penobsquis who Harvey thought of as his own; as well as several nieces and nephews. Harvey was predeceased by his brothers: Meryl “Bud” and Raymond and by his sister Verna Jones. Harvey was a well known businessman in Sussex, he owned and operated Buchanan\'s Furniture Store on St. George Street for many years.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm. A Celebration of Harvey’s life will be held from Trinity Anglican Church on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 11:00 am. The interment will take place at Trinity Cemetery in the spring.
