BAYNE, Georgina May “Billie”, 95, Evergreen Nursing Home, Kentville, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 8, 2010 in Kentville. Born in Waterville, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Mabel (Cross) Watts. She was a graduate of Horton Academy, and the Maritime Business College, Halifax. Georgina worked for 38 years in the office at Scotian Gold. In her earlier years, she was an active Women's Institute Member, Red Cross worker, and VON volunteer, as well as volunteering for several other organizations. She is survived by nieces Ellen and Karen, step daughters Jean and Margaret, and brother-in-law Eldridge Dillon. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Ralph A. Bayne, and her sisters Hazel Dahlstrom, and Marjorie Dillon. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Special thanks is extended to the staff of Evergreen Home for Special Care, and to the Palliative Care Unit at Evergreen. Donations in Georgina’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Cremation has taken place and there was no visitation or service at her request. Private interment will take place at a later date.
