“Sorry to hear about Pat\'s passing. I began my teaching career at PWC under her guidance and I have to say she had a passion for her job and a love for her students that was second to none. She provided guidance to me in my early days of becoming a teacher and I feel that I am a better teacher for it. Rest in Peace Pat”

“Sometimes people come into your life for just a little while and change your thinking and attitude for a life time. Pat LaRoque was one of those people. I had her as a teacher for just one year, but what a year! The way she interacted with her students was phenomenal. I don\'t think she ever had a student that she couldn\'t help. Rest in peace, Mrs. L. you\'ve earned it.”

  • Shock and disbelief

“I just heard about Mrs. LaRoque\'s passing and I could hardly believe it. I knew she was sick a long time ago but I didn\'t know she was this bad. She was out of school a lot her last year teaching. We sure hated to see her go but iver the years I have thought about her and spoke of her often. My family was pretty dysfunctional and she helped me through a lot of school and personal problems. I wish i had kept in touch so she would know how much I valued her advice and help. I only hope she knew how much I thought of her. She was an awesome teacher and friend to all her students. To her family, I send my deepest condolences to her family on her passing. She will always remain in my heart and prayers as one of the nicest people I have ever met. Bless you Mrs. LaRoque, you were one in a million and I will remember you forever.”

  • Great teacher and friend

    Paul D. on 21 mars 2010

“to the family and friends of Mrs. Laroque. my deepest sympathies. The world has lost a wonderful teacher and friend. I had the honor of being in her class for 2 years and there was no better mentor. She was always there to lend an ear and she had the most wonderful way of seeing all sides of a situation. She helped me out so much with encouragement and praise. Although at the time i really didn\'t appriciate her help, I have come to realize that she steered me down the right path. God bless you Mrs. L. May you rest in peace.
    Paul, Deb and family.”

  • A Wonderful Teacher

Bobbi (Mitchell) Ryan on 20 mars 2010

“I would like to send my condolences to Mrs. LaRoque\\\'s family and friends. I had the privalage of being one of Mrs. LaRoque\\\'s students in 92/93. We had alot of fun times in her classes. I remember she use to let us go and get freshly baked chocolate chip cookies in the lunch room during morning periods, and of course I would have to bring her back one. Mrs. LaRoque was actually the one who talked me into going on the class trip that year with her and Mrs. Prior, and I\\\'m some glad she did because it was the best trip ever, with the best two teachers that you could spend time with. I have lot\\\'s of memories of Mrs. LaRoque on that trip, and many pictures to remember her by. We kept in touch over the years, but the past four years we haven\\\'t, and I regret that deeply. Me and Mrs. LaRoque had many chats about the after life, and I\\\'m very sure she is happy there. May God Bless Mrs. LaRoque and all of those who cared about her.”

“My deepest condolences to Pat\'s family. We were classmates at MUN in the late 60s (I was Patricia Moyst then). One of my fondest memories of Pat is meeting her in the Toronto Subway purely by chance on a visit there in 1982. To think it was the last time I\'d see her. Prayers for all of you at this sad time. God bless. ”

  • Lost track of Pat.

Margaret Ayad on 19 mars 2010

“My deepest condolences to all Pat\'s friends and relatives. I knew her when she was teaching Bay Roberts. She was a good friend and we had many wonderful chats about the numerous subjects in which Pat was interested and about which she had knowledge, including her much loved Schnauzer pets at that time. So sorry that we lost touch and that there was no opportunity to say good bye.”
