The death of George Frederick “Fred” Allen of Sussex occurred at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on March 23, 2010 at the age of 85. Born in Urney, NB, a son of the late Bernard and Flossie (Law) Allen. Fred is survived by his sister Mary Robinson of Corbeil, ON, brother; Charles (Faye) Allen of Butler, Indiana, sister-in-law Kathleen Allen of New Line, nieces; Ruth Allen of Butler, Indiana, Judy (Otis) Best of Corbeil, Ontario, Jeanette (Edmond) Gallant of Garnett Settlement and June (Bennie) Donaldson of Saint John, nephews; Douglas (Mary) Allen of Sussex and Richard (Sue) Allen of Houlton, Maine and several great nieces and nephews. Fred was predeceased by his parents and brothers John Allen and Bill Allen.
The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Sunday from 2 to 5 PM and Monday from 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday March 30, 2010 at 2:00PM in the funeral home chapel.
