Unexpectedly and with her family by her side, the death of Catherine Rogerson of Quispamsis, NB, wife of the late Ralph Rogerson, occurred Friday, April 2nd, 2010, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born March 18th, 1930 in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Dibblee) Kennedy. Catherine enjoyed camping and had many fond memories of doing so with family and friends at St. Martins. She was truly a woman who was dedicated to her family and treasured every moment spent with her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Catherine will be missed dearly by her family and will be remembered as a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was a faithful member of the parish of St. Mark's. Catherine is survived by six children, Linda Burke and Brian "Butch" Rogerson (Bonnie) both of Quispamsis, Richard Rogerson (Sandy) of Hampton, Jimmy Rogerson of Quispamsis, Kevin Rogerson (Donna) of Damascus and Mary-Ann Cadger (Donald) of Quispamsis; three sisters, Betty Payne (Evans) of Prince Edward Island, Irene Gould and Ann-Marie Elliott both of Saint John; sisters-in-law, Grace Ritchie of Quispamsis and Aggie Kennedy of Saint John; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; as well as, several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Catherine was also predeceased by son-in-law, Kevin Burke, brother, James Kennedy, brother-in-law, Greg Gould and niece, Susan Payne.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Monday from 7 to 9 PM and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Vigil Prayers will be held Monday at 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Mark's Catholic Church, 171 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, on Wednesday, April 7th, 2010, at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens, Saint John, NB. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice.
