February 12, 1927 - April 11, 2010 - Luther John Christensen (born February 12, 1927) died Sunday, April 11, 2010 at the Grand Falls General Hospital. For the past 6 years he enjoyed life with his wife, Donnajean (Smith). As a young man he married Elsie Rose Levesque and they raised a family of 5 children. They worked the farm side by side for 50 years. He is survived by his wife Donnajean Smith Christensen, his children Sheila Eagles (Bill), Jocelyn Killam (Leon), Patricia McCrae, Martin Christensen (Joanie), and Nila Christensen. Luther was the proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren. Mark Eagles, Shelly Bredemeyer, Vaughan Killam, Marcia McCrae, Jonathan Christensen, Andrew McCrae, Krista Christensen, Sally McCrae, Rachel van Raalte, Emily Goodine, Britany Goodine, Jordan Goodine, and seven great grandchildren. Melinda & Bradley Eagles, Ethan & Mason Bredemeyer, Jack Clements, Kiersten Christensen, Kœn van Raalte. Luther's family circle expanded to include Donnajean's family Nila (Wilmot) McQuade, David (Marie) Smith, Cindy (Nathan) McIntosh and their children. Luther lived his whole life on "Christensen Hill" New Denmark. He was the eldest of four sons of the late Clarence & Sadie (McLellan) Christensen. Survived by his brother Osbourne (Glenna) New Denmark. Luther was predeceased by his first wife Elsie, grandson Steven Eagles and two brothers Elmer and Donald Christensen.
Visitation at Calvary Tabernacle, Wednesday, April 14th from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. Service April 15th at 1 pm from the Calvary Tabernacle, Perth-Andover. Committal to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery of New Denmark.
