After a lengthy battle with cancer on Monday, June 7, 2010, at Milton District Hospital of Bernard "Bernie" Gillis, age 64. Beloved husband of Debbie Gillis and loving father of Darlene (David) Raggett of Port Coquitlam, B.C., and Donna Gillis. Proud grandpa of Sarah, Victoria and Christopher. Brother of Ira (Sylvia) of Brampton, Ont., and Bill (Cathy) of Alberton. He will also be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law Muriel Gillis, Alberton, Thelma Hickey, Oshawa, and Roberta Gillis, Brampton; and brother-in-law Ed Greenwood. Predeceased by parents Albert and Lottie Gillis, Kildare, and siblings Mary (in infancy), Noreen, Arnold, Gerry, Rennie and Leo. The family will receive visitors at the J. Scott Early Funeral Home, 21 James St., Milton, Ont. on Thursday, June 10, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home chapel.
