1912 - 2010 - Marion Garvin of Riverview, NB passed away at the Moncton Hospital, Thursday, June 10, 2010. Born in Lower Cape, Albert Co. on January 24, 1912, she was the daughter of the late George and Charlotte Nelson. She retired in 1972 from a teaching career, in which she was able to serve several schools in Moncton and the surrounding area. Marion was a member of the Westmorland Chapter of the IODE. Having a great love of nature she enjoyed long walks, flowers and gardening. She was also an avid reader. However, her greatest joy was sharing time with her family. Marion is survived by her daughter Margaret Rubak of Riverview, son Guy Garvin (Renate) of London, England, grandchildren; Marion, Pia and Jennifer, seven great-grandchildren, sister; Margaret Drury (Wilfred) of Sussex, as well as her brother; Carl Nelson of Riverview and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by siblings; Eleanor, Russell, Maurice, James, Kathryn, Bernard and Harry.
In honoring Marion's wishes there will be no funeral service. The family invites you to join them for a gathering to celebrate Marion's life on Sunday, June 13, from 2 to 4pm at Cobb's Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview, NB (869-2007). Interment to take place at Lower Cape Baptist Church Cemetery. Donations to Lower Cape Baptist Church Cemetery or the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
