1941 - 2010

Victor Fast passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 20th at the Adanac Care Home, in Vancouver, B.C. at the age of 69.

He was born to Heinrich and Katharina Fast on February 22, 1941 in Osterwick, Ukraine.

He, along with his family, came to Canada in 1949 and settled in Yarrow, B.C. He attended school both in Yarrow and in Chilliwack. After his marriage to Maryann, they moved to Kamloops where he lived for several years before moving back to Vancouver.

While in Kamloops he spent many years conversing and getting to know people working at Woodwards, Gainers and The Grocery People. Spending time chatting was truly a passion. He was also involved in the community thru the Kinsmen Club and singing with the Barbershop Chorus. Vic also loved to fish in many lakes around Kamloops and swing the clubs as a member at Kamloops Golf and Country for many years.

He is survived and will be truly missed by his dear wife of 45 years, Maryann, daughter Kathrine of Hawaii, son, Steve and his wife Joanne of Kelowna, and three beautiful grand daughters, Jemma Stolberg, Katrina, and Brianna Fast. Also his brother John and wife Mavis and their family of Chilliwack. He will be remembered by his extended family and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son in law, Jess Stolberg, mother and father, Heinrich and Katharina Fast, sister Erika and two infant brothers, Heinz and Alexander in the Ukraine.

There will be no funeral service. A memorial gathering is planned in the near future.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
