It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lander Kennedy announce his passing on Sunday, July 11th, 2010 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, in his 85th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his children: Nora (Jim), Joe (Alice), Gary (Judy), Christine (Gerard), Demps (Kay), Eugene (Joan), Dion and Lori Ann (Boyd); 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers: Bobby (Shirley) and Bill (Bess); sisters: Pauline Lavers and Nellie Burden; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph & Josephine Kennedy; grandson, Bradley; twin brother, Walter; brothers: Charlie, Steve, Mike and Derek and sister, Sadie. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue, on Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 14th at 10:30 a.m. from the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer, Mt. Bernard Avenue. Father Ambrose Hynes officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Bay of Islands SPCA or to the charity of one's choice.
