CALDWELL "BUTCH" REDDICK

Butch was born to Charles and Myrtle Reddick on June 6th, 1936 in Trenton, Nova Scotia and passed away peacefully on July 14th, 2010 at Extendicare Moose Jaw after a lengthy illness. Butch is predeceased by his parents; his two older brothers, Carmen and Ross; his sister-in-law, Elsie Reddick; his father in-law, Gordon Hundeby; his brother-in-law, Norman King; and his nephew, Jeffrey King. He leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Debby (nee Hundeby), and his daughter, Cheryl Reddick of Kenora, ON. Butch is also survived by his sisters, Joyce Reddick, Betty Reddick, Nellie Edmondson, Myrtle Reddick, and Irene Reddick; his brother, Charles Reddick; his mother-in-law, Ethel Hundeby; his sister-in-law, Joan Haug (Glenn); his nieces, Elaine Reddick, Heather Heaney, Tennile Haug and Kirsten Nichols; and his nephew, Trent Haug; along with their families. He will also be missed by his best friend and loving dog, Duffy. Butch left Trenton, NS in 1954 and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force where he served for 25 years in various locations throughout Canada and Europe. During his travels he met his wife, Debby, in Moose Jaw and it was here where he chose to stay. Butch left the military in 1980 and began working for the Saskatchewan Property Management Corporation (SPMC) where he spent several years located at SIAST Palliser Campus. Upon his retirement from SPMC he continued to keep busy through his work for the Commissionaires until 2008. Butch was an avid sports fan and spent many years boxing and playing hockey and football. Later years were spent staying active by walking in local parks with Duffy. Butch's caring and compassion was demonstrated through the years he volunteered as a Big Brother and by his willingness to go above and beyond to help others. Butch was appreciative of the staff of Extendicare Moose Jaw for the extraordinary care he received. A Funeral Service will be held at the Moose Jaw Alliance Church on Monday, July 19th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor John Henry will officiate. Visitation for family and friends will take place Sunday, July 18th, 2010 from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation of Sask., 279 3rd Ave. N., Saskatoon, SK., S7K 2H8, or to The Canadian Diabetes Association, 917A Albert St., Regina, SK., S4R 2P6.
