The death occurred at Perrin's Clinton View Lodge, Clinton, on Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, of Matilda Deschene of Summerside, aged 78 years. Born in Forest Hill, P.E.I., she was the daughter of the late Neil and Mary (Campbell) MacIntyre. Survived by her son Edward (Linda), Summerside; daughter Marilyn (Bruce) Selman, Duncan, B.C.; grandchildren John and James Selman, Jennifer Bradfield, Jonathan, Kyra, David and Krysti Deschene; great-grandchildren Braydon, Keegan, Ethan, Emma and Landon; brothers and sisters Paula Arsenault, Clinton; Joseph (Alma) MacIntyre, Summerside; Phyllis Goldsmith, Moncton, N.B.; George MacIntyre, Toronto, Ont.; special niece Brenda (Ken) Kirkwood, Halifax, N.S.; and by numerous other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Edward Deschene; sons Frederick and Michael; sister Roberta MacDonald; and by brothers-in-law Glenn Goldsmith, Orville MacDonald and Ray Arsenault. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Tuesday, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hours Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. only. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
