It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Francis Smith announce his passing on Thursday, August 26th, 2010 at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, at the age of 84 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories: his wife, Genevieve; daughter, Jamie (Lloyd) Eisan, Trenton, NS; brothers: Joseph (Marg) Smith, Labrador, Gerald (Barbara) Smith, Lourdes, NL; sisters: Mary Ann Skinner, Lourdes, NL, Cecilia (Roy) White, Stephenville, NL, as well as 19 nieces, 18 nephews, other family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Tom and Beatrice Smith; brothers: Charles, Patrick and Michael. Visitation will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., from where the funeral mass will take place on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Terry Boland officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Tea Cove/West Bay. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted.
