JAMES FREDERICK GREEN
1933 - 2010
It is with heart-filled sadness that the family of James Frederick Green of Grand Falls-Windsor announce his passing at his favourite place - the family cabin in Point of Bay - on August 27, 2010 in his 77th year. Originally from Chapleau in Northern Ontario, Jim built has fairy tale life in Grand Falls-Windsor. He married the woman of his dreams, built his unique concrete house on Kerry Place and raised a beautiful family. Jim leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 50 years Rose Marie Green, daughter Deb of Gillams, NL, son Len (Tracey) of California, grandson Callum, and a large circle of friends and family. He was predeceased by his parents Amy & Leonard Green and brother Harry. Jim was an avid inventor and had a passion for reading, gardening, trains, the outdoors, cabin life, community development, and sharing his wealth of knowledge and wisdom with younger generations. He remained an active member of the Grand Falls Rotary Club until the day of his death (as past president, Paul Harris Fellow and "True Rotarian"), a retired engineer with Abitibi, Past President of the Professional Engineers Association of Newfoundland, Past President of the Exploits Valley Development Association, former board member of the Mary March Museum, former Superintendent of Holy Trinity Sunday School and past long-standing member of the Holy Trinity Church Choir. This caring, generous, knowledgeable man was an inspiration to all who knew him.

Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the South & Central Health Foundation or the Rotary Foundation.
A memorial service was held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church on August 31, 2010 officiated by the Rev. Roy Martin. Arrangements were entrusted to Michael Goodyear of Central Funeral Homes.
